The members of the first temporary consistory were Mr. William Vandenberg and Mr. W. Rutgers as elders, Mr. J. Vanderbeek as deacon. Rev. H. Maassen of the First Reformed Church in Chatham, assisted in the initial services until the first minister was appointed. Rev. Maassen came to the Vandenberg's once a month to conduct the church service in their house. Sometimes there were 20 people in attendance. To make seats available for everyone, a board from the barn was often put over two chairs for the makeshift pew. One Sunday when the collection plate, a saucer, was passed around, the total offering was $1.03.
The first Sunday School classes were held on June 20, 1954 consisting of two separate classes. Later that summer, the first church picnic was held at Point Pelee Park.
Rev. Moerman, a student minister from the United States, replaced Rev. Maasssen in 1955.
In 1969 the call for a new minister was answered by Rev. Peter deJong. Rev deJong moved from Manitoba with his wife Corrie and their four sons to join the Faith Reformed Church.
Church services, in later years, were held in an old school located on the corner of the Graham Sideroad and Highway 18. Construction of the now existing church building started in 1977, and with the help of many members of the congregation, was completed in 1978. Official dedication of the new sanctuary was held on September 8, 1978. A stone-laying ceremony was held with Mr. G. VanKempen, the oldest member of the church, inserting the stone.
After the retirement of Rev. dejong after 26 years of service, Rev. Carson Culp accepted the call as pastor to the congregation in June 1997. He served faithfully until 2006.
In August 2007, Pastor Ken Labbe accepted the call to lead the group. We welcome Ken and Christina Labbe into our church family.
