“A vision is not just a picture of what could be;

it is an appeal to our better selves,

a call to become something more.”

Announcements

Sunday Evening Prayer:

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join together on Sunday evenings at 6:30pm in the basement for a time of reflection and prayer, especially as we seek the will of God for his church.

Pot Luck Dinner:

Ladies, mark your calendars for 6 p.m.,Tuesday, May 4th..  Faith Reformed Church is holding our Annual Women of Faith pot luck dinner.  Bring a main dish or a salad or a dessert.  This year our speaker is Katherine Bridge from Hiatus House in Windsor , which is a shelter for battered women.  Please bring a donation for Hiatus House.  The list of needed items is on the bulletin board at the back and at www.hiatushouse.com.

Water For Life:

The Rodrigues family is sponsoring a pasta dinner at Colasanti’s in support of the Water for Life program. The date is Thursday, May 6th from 6-8pm. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for kids under 12. See Maria or Ann-Marie for details.

Sundae Sunday:

On Sunday, May 23rd, we will be having a brief meeting after the service to discuss whether or not we intend to have John Kapteyn come back to take us through his program called “vision renewal.” We will have our usual monthly coffee time on this date, rather than on the 30th. And as a bonus, consistory will be making Sundaes for everyone!

Vision Renewal (John’s Program)

“Few churches have a clear ministry vision. Consequently, they lack focus and enthusiasm in their ministries. In an effort to remedy their situation they often try to create a vision rather than discovering the one that God has for them. Vision Renewal offers a way for churches to listen to God collectively and discover His agenda and the future He has for them. The result is a focused church with a realistic vision that makes a Kingdom impact.” See more at http://en.outreach.ca

Chili Results:

A great big thank-you to all who participated in our chili fundraisers this year. It takes many hands to make all this come together! Our final chili of the year was last week and we raised $949.

Summer Begins!

Pastor Ken and Christina will be away camping from May 28th until June 11th.
